Volume 2 of this app offers 10 new tracks along with the innovative feature that lets you record your performance with the band. Renowned jazz musicians Peter Erskine on drums, Alan Pasqua on piano, and Darek Oles on bass contribute their expertise to this app, tailor-made for musicians looking to hone their jazz skills.
The essence of jazz lies in the ability to master playing blues and standards in various keys and tempos. Drawing from a wealth of professional and educational experiences totaling a century among these three musicians, the tracks delve into a diverse range of indispensable jazz modes and styles.
The app includes a built-in mixer allowing users to configure their desired combo: full rhythm section (trio), music excluding piano, bass, or drums, as well as separate tracks for drums, bass, or piano. Moreover, it offers options for click tracks and count-offs.
Supplementary PDF lead sheets are available in the keys of C, Bb, and Eb; these sheets can be printed or shared directly from the app. Preserving the original form and chord changes of well-known standards, with occasional notations where necessary, the app also incorporates classic tune structures from the post-bop era, ensuring a contemporary selection.
For an authentic experience, it is recommended to initially listen to the full trio mixes to understand the band's interpretation of the music.
